About
our children's services...
The
children's collection at the Belfast Free Library includes
books, magazines, videos, audio cassettes, and book
and cassette sets. There are approximately 10,000 items.
Any child in Waldo County under the age of 18 may have
a free library card. A parent or guardian must sign
the registration form for children to receive a card.
Books may be borrowed for 3 weeks; audio cassettes for
2 weeks; videos and magazines for 1 week; CD's for 2
weeks; DVD's for 1 week.
There is a 5¢ a day fine for any late materials,
except videos which are a $1.00 per day.
Computer
& Internet Guidelines...
Computers
are available on the children's floor for use by children
under the age of 12. Children 12 and older may use the
young adult computers on the 1st floor, with their parent's
permission. Children are asked to sign-up for half hour
time slots.
