Reserves & Interlibrary Loans
Any item that can be checked out at the Belfast Free Library or any of the other libraries in the MINERVA or MaineInfoNet systems may be placed on reserve by library cardholders from our online catalog. On finding the title that you want, click on the REQUEST button and submit the required information. If you are not familiar with the online catalog or the requesting procedures, feel free to contact library staff for assistance.

You will be notified by phone when the item is available and will have one week to pick it up. There is no charge for reserves or interlibrary loans.

Request for Purchase
Patrons may request that a title be purchased for the library's collection by completing a "Request for Purchase" card at the Main Circulation Desk. The request will be carefully considered and the patron notified of the purchase decision in a timely manner.

Talking Books, Books by Mail, and More
The Maine State Library's Outreach Services supports the Talking Books Program which provides library service to persons in Maine who are unable to read conventional print materials because of a visual or physical problem or reading disability. Talking books are conventional print books that have been narrated onto cassettes. The Maine State Library's Outreach Services can also provide descriptive videos and books by mail for individuals who are homebound due to disability and other services to ensure that library resources are available to people with disabilities.

Computer Use
On each floor there are Internet-ready computers available to the public. Before using the computers, each patron will be asked to read, sign and agree to abide by the Library's Internet Use Agreement Policy. The Library reserves the right to disallow use of the computers to those violating the Policy. Please see Internet Use Policy for specifics.

Second Floor: (Children's Floor) - Sign up at the Children's Circulation Desk.
